Preston/Poetter Hall
SCAD's first aquired building.
Built in 1892

There have reposts of diembodied voices in the old gym and downstairs galleries.  I had heard a rumor that slaves were kept in the armory basement.  Could the voices heard down there be those unfortunates?  The Armory would have been full of activity when it was in use and it is not too strange to believe that the energy at that time left an imprint that is still heard and felt to this day.  There have also been reports of lights coming on by themselves and the sounds of heavy footfalls on the large wooden stair case. Many people who have heard such noises attribute them to the soldiers who used the armory.  But it may also be that some other presence haunts the Armory for it was built on the site of The Savannah Female Orpahn Asylum.
